How to scan Pokémon cards with your phone

Open our scanner, point your phone at a card and hold still. It reads the card, names it and shows what it sells for. It works on single cards, graded slabs and several cards at once.

Checked 12 October 2026. We update this page when the facts change.

How to get a clean scan

  1. Find good light.Daylight or a bright lamp. Avoid a strong reflection on a holo card.
  2. Use a plain surface.A dark table works best. Patterns behind the card slow the read.
  3. Hold still above the card.Auto snap takes the photo by itself once the phone is steady.
  4. Check the match. If it is unsure it asks you to pick the printing. Tap the right one.

Scanning a pile

  • Lay several cards out with a gap between them.
  • The scanner finds each card and reads them one by one.
  • Raw cards and slabs can sit in the same photo.
  • On a computer, drop photos of your cards onto the window.

Common questions

Is there a free Pokémon card scanner?

Yes. Ours is free and runs in your phone's browser. Point the camera at a card and it shows the name, the set and the price.

Can you scan Pokémon cards to see how much they are worth?

Yes. The scanner reads the card and shows its raw price and its graded prices from our card data.

Can a scanner tell if a Pokémon card is fake?

No. A scanner matches the picture to a known card, and a good fake matches too. Use the checks in our guide to fakes first.

Can I scan more than one card at a time?

Yes. Lay the cards out with a gap between them and the scanner reads each one.

Does it read graded cards?

Yes. It reads a slab, and the grade advice compares what each company's slab sells for.
